Athlete & Community Manager Jobs in Berlin, Germany at DayOne Performance

Title: Athlete & Community Manager

Company: DayOne Performance

Location: Berlin, Germany

About day one®

day one® is a Berlin-based performance sportswear brand built by athletes for athletes who train

hard. Co-founded by Alvaro Gellings and Arda Saatçi — the latter a Red Bull ultramarathoner

whose latest Cyborg Season project was a 600km run from Death Valley to Santa Monica Pier —

day one® stands for one idea: you are not bound by what you were yesterday. Every morning, you

get to decide who you are. Today we are one of the fastest-growing D2C performance brands in

DACH — profitable, intentionally small, and building for the long term.

About the Role

As Athlete & Community Manager at day one®, you build the engine that turns our brand into a

movement. You identify the athletes, creators, and community leaders who will represent day

one® — and you build the relationships that make those partnerships real, lasting, and

commercially meaningful.

This role sits at the intersection of athlete management, influencer marketing, and community

building. You bring an existing network of athletes, agents, and creators in performance sport —

and the credibility to make the first call yourself. From scouting and negotiation through activation

and reporting, you own the relationship end-to-end and translate it into measurable brand and

revenue outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, pitch, and sign athletes and creators aligned with day one®'s positioning across

strength, endurance, performance, and hybrid disciplines

  • Own deal structuring and contract negotiation — flat-fee, performance-based, equity-linked,

hybrid

  • Build and manage the day one® athlete roster: tier strategy, geographic mix, sport mix,

renewal cadence

  • Be the single point of contact for every athlete — protect the relationship, anticipate needs,

fix problems before they escalate

  • Integrate athletes into product launches, content shoots, brand campaigns, and event

activations

  • Run a structured influencer seeding and partnership program alongside the athlete roster
  • Own the program budget: athlete fees, content, events, gifting, travel
  • Report monthly on athlete-attributable revenue, content reach, paid-to-organic mix shift, and

CAC impact

Requirements

  • A strong existing network — either (a) athletes, agents, federations, or athlete reps in

performance sport (running, strength, hybrid/multi-discipline, combat, cycling, or adjacent

categories), or (b) creators and influencers, with a track record of building exceptional brand

programs at scale. Experience in performance sport is a strong plus and the most

natural fit for day one®

  • 5+ years in athlete management, sports marketing, talent management, or influencer

marketing — ideally with at least one stint at a performance-sport, fitness, or premium

lifestyle brand

  • Track record of signing 5+ athletes or creators in a prior role with provable revenue or

earned-media outcomes

  • Strong commercial instinct — you negotiate deals yourself, read contracts, push back on

agents, protect the company's economics

  • High operational discipline — multiple parallel relationships, content deadlines, travel

logistics, reporting cadence

  • Strong English required; German strongly preferred (most German athletes and creators are

bilingual but the trust is faster in DE)

  • Willingness to travel 15–25 trips/year for athlete meetings, races, events
  • Hands-on mentality and strong team player skills
