Job Summary
The Assistant in Training (AIT) Programme is designed to develop future leaders in Golf Course Maintenance. The successful candidate will participate in a structured 18-month training programme, gaining practical experience and technical knowledge in turfgrass management, irrigation, equipment operation, agronomy, leadership, and golf course presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily golf course maintenance activities, including greens, tees, fairways, and bunkers.
- Operate and maintain turf maintenance equipment safely.
- Support irrigation inspections, repairs, and water management programmes.
- Participate in aeration, renovation, and tournament preparation activities.
- Assist with landscape, horticultural, and environmental initiatives.
- Learn and apply turfgrass management and agronomic best practices.
- Support project work and gradually take on supervisory responsibilities.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and course presentation.
Requirements
- Qualification or ongoing studies in Turfgrass Management, Agriculture, Horticulture, Plant Science, or a related field; or relevant golf course maintenance experience.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work outdoors and flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Previous golf course maintenance experience is an advantage.

Upon successful completion of the programme, candidates may be considered for future opportunities such as Assistant Superintendent and other supervisory roles within Golf Course Maintenance.
