Lauderdale Yacht Club is a Premiere Private Club open to Members and Guests only near downtown Fort Lauderdale focusing on a family friendly experience for its Members and Guests. We provide food and beverage services, (fine dining and upscale casual dining) social activities, with sailing, tennis, fitness center, an Olympic size swimming pool, and summer camp and other activities for children. We are a Platinum Club of America.
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Tennis Instructor to join our team as a Summer Camp Instructor. This is a Part Time Seasonal Position from June through August.
As a Summer Tennis Instructor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality tennis instruction and clinics for students of all ages and skill levels who are Members and guests. Responsible for private and group instruction to a wide range of abilities and skill levels. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are passionate about tennis and enjoy working with students.
- BACKGROUND SCREENING AND DRUG TESTING REQUIRED WHICH INCLUDES MARIJUANA.
- MUST PASS BACKGROUND SCREENING AND DRUG TESTING TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR HIRE.
- THIS IS A PART TIME SEASONAL POSITION MONDAY TO FRIDAY FROM JUNE THROUGH AUGUST WITH APPROXIMATELY 25-30 HOURS PER WEEK.
- MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD.
- MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE AS A TENNIS INSTRUCTOR WORKING WITH CHILDREN AGES 3-16.
- WE OFFER COMPETETIVE PAY BASED ON EXPERIENCE – $18.00 to $20.00 per Hour.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Collegiate or High School team experience desirable, preferably with a 4.0 or above rating.
- Two to three year competitive playing experience.
- Experience running junior development programs.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, CORE COMPETENCIES AND EXPECTATIONS:
- Work in compliance of OSHA regulations (specifically Section 28) and Club’s health and safety policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with the game and rules of tennis.
- Consistently comply with the club’s employee Manual and with all applicable federal and state employment laws.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
TASKS/DUTIES:
- Assists in junior tennis clinics, tennis camps, and provide private instruction as needed.
- Administers and enforces club tennis policies and procedures regarding play on club courts.
- Ensures that all Members and guests receive courteous, prompt and professional attention to all their tennis needs.
- Maintains a close working relationship with other club professionals.
- Is visibly present on the courts during peak period of play.
- Attends staff meetings and other meetings as required.
- Completes assignments made by the Director of Tennis.
Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Director of Tennis.
Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
