Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise children during camp activities, ensuring safety and engagement at all times
- Implement age-appropriate games, arts and crafts, sports, and educational programs that promote learning and fun
- Manage group behavior through effective classroom management and behavior management techniques
- Provide first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any medical or safety concerns
- Support children with special needs or in early childhood education programs to ensure inclusive participation
- Collaborate with fellow counselors to plan daily schedules and special events that enhance camper experience
- Foster a positive environment rooted in respect, kindness, and Christian counseling principles where every child feels valued
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain order and encourage positive behavior
- Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, or summer camps
- Knowledge of childhood development and early childhood education best practices
- Ability to administer basic first aid and handle emergency situations confidently
- Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, and team members
- Background in sports coaching, theater, babysitting, or childcare is a plus
- Passion for working with students of diverse backgrounds and supporting their social-emotional growth
