We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Sports Camp Coordinator to lead and manage our dynamic summer sports camp program. In this role, you will be the driving force behind creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment for children and youth participating in various sports activities. Duties
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily sports activities, games, and tournaments tailored to different age groups and skill levels
- Supervise camp staff and volunteers, providing guidance on activity execution, safety protocols, and child engagement strategies
- Ensure all activities adhere to safety standards by implementing proper first aid procedures and emergency response plans
- Foster an inclusive environment that supports children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education or accommodations
- Maintain clear communication with parents and guardians regarding camp schedules, progress, and any concerns
- Manage behavior management strategies to promote positive conduct and teamwork among campers
- Coordinate with other camp departments to integrate arts, theater, or other recreational activities that enhance the overall camp experience
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sports coaching, childcare, or camp leadership roles with a focus on working with children or youth
- Strong classroom management skills combined with behavior management techniques suitable for early childhood education settings
- Education in Parks and Recreation, Family and Human Development, Elementary Education or related field is preferred
- Ability to maintain focus and apply sound judgement in a dynamic environment
- Moderate physical activity required
- Must possess or be able to obtain First Aid and CPR certification
- Ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, staff, and community partners
- Experience in tutoring or teaching can enhance your ability to support individual camper needs
- Passion for sports coaching, babysitting, theater arts, or Christian counseling is highly valued for creating a well-rounded camp environment
