The role.
This full-time position sits within our Data & Research team, which is responsible for gathering, collating and maintaining industry-wide data on sports media rights and sponsorship deals. With a focus on sponsorship, you will play an important role in uncovering and maintaining commercially valuable information across the world’s major sports. Working as part of a collaborative and supportive team, you will contribute to database development, data analysis and a variety of ad hoc projects, while building expertise in one of the most dynamic areas of the sports industry.
As an entry-level role, this position offers a structured and well-supported introduction to research, data management and analysis within one of the world’s leading sports media and intelligence businesses. It is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone at the start of their career who is excited to learn, build practical skills and develop a strong understanding of the commercial side of the global sports industry.
What you will own.
• Tracking and researching sponsorship deals across a broad range of sports and international markets
• Conducting in-depth monthly research in a specific area of focus
• Populating and managing the database on a daily basis.
• Providing deal information to support articles, reports and analysis
• Building a strong understanding of the global sports sponsorship landscape, including key deal elements such as rights, inventory and activation
• Contributing to a range of business projects throughout the year
• Assisting with data-auditing tasks to maintain SportBusiness data quality standards and increase the volume of data points in our database
• Performing quality control checks.
What you will bring.
• A genuine interest in research and the ability to work carefully with data, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Confidence using spreadsheets and data tools, or the willingness to learn quickly
• The ability to interpret information from different sources and identify what matters most
• Clear and concise writing skills, with the ability to communicate findings effectively
• The ability to stay organised, manage your time and balance multiple tasks
• Willingness to support the team and collaborate on projects
• An interest in the commercial side of sport, whether developed through study, internships, extracurricular activities or early work experience
