Toray Advanced Composites (TAC) is a leading supplier of advanced composite materials for the aerospace, sporting goods, motorsport, and industrial markets. You will find our thermoset composite products on nearly every satellite, space launch vehicle, unmanned aircraft, military and commercial aircraft in production today. TAC also provides composites materials to industrial and recreational applications including mountain bikes, medical prosthetics, and sports equipment.
Our thermoplastic prepregs, known in the industry as Cetex®, are found in a wide range of commercial and military aircraft, including large wing structures and interior applications like seats and galleys. Our Cetex products are available in unidirectional tape or fabric form in a variety of engineered thermoplastic resins including PEEK, PPS, PEI as well as a full line of performance thermoplastics including Nylon, PET, HDPE, and PP.
SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
The Production Scheduler III will own the process for creating the production schedule by working closely with different departments to ensure work orders are prioritize and the production schedule/lines are running effectively to meet deadlines. The person in this role will work on modifying and providing alternative solutions to reflect pull-ins and push-outs requests based on customer and company’s needs. The scheduler will also maintain, review and provide direction for the production reports on work order status/progress. This role will interface with purchasing and inventory to ensure inventory is available or provide alternative solutions prior to creating the production schedule. The person in this role should be able to review the production schedule, work orders, staffing abilities, to determine the status of the work order completion for each production line and communicate any limitations. The Production Scheduler III will work closely with the production schedule team to ensure the production schedules are distributed to appropriate departments.

MAJOR DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Own the process for creating the production schedule by working closely with different departments to ensure work orders are prioritize and the production schedule/lines are running effectively to meet deadlines
- Participate in production changes to modify and provide alternative solutions to reflect pull-ins and push-outs requests based on customer and company’s needs
- Ability to plan for one to six months ahead to align with customer demands with supply chain and production capabilities
- Maintain, review and provide direction for the production reports on work order status/progress
- Review and make improvements on production, quality, and shipment schedules with department supervisors to determine progress of work and ensure completion dates are obtained
- Maintain, review and have oversight on the production reports for work order status/progress
- Review inventory levels, costs, and production limitations (i.e., machine downtime, limited staff) prior to creating the production schedule.
- Work with appropriate departments to ensure inventory is available or provide alternative solutions prior to creating the production schedule
- Prepare routine reports and documents following detailed instruction.
- Communicate with appropriate department on routine requests.
- Oversee that files and records are correctly maintained by production scheduler team
- Access items such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing tables, to determine personnel, material requirements or material priorities.
- Ability to recommend alternative materials or supplies when items are not available
- Run the daily production scheduling meeting
- Follow the safety procedures for PPE (personal protection equipment)
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates Degree preferred, however high school diploma or equivalent required
- More than 6 years of experience working with composites or production/inventory control related experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a leadership role such as lead, trainer or manager is ideal but not required
- Proficiency in a computerized MRP system.
- MS Dynamics AX experience strongly preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office specifically Excel and data base systems (FileMaker Pro)
- Effective communication skills
- Support multiple different teams
- Must be able to communicate clearly (written and verbally) in English
- Able to work and communicate effectively with cross functional team
- Maintain work areas in a neat, orderly and safe manner
- Must be capable of lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Excellent attendance: ability to work overtime, weekends and off shifts when needed
