Assisting with multiple different office tasks to include working in clinic with provider, obtaining benefits and pre certifications with insurance companies for in office procedures and surgeries, completing patient disability forms, addressing patient phone calls, you’ll be part of a patient – first team, committed to excellence in musculoskeletal care.

Responsibilities

- Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for evaluation.
- Document patient history, symptoms, and treatments related to chief complaint.
- Assist providers with exams, injections, wound care, and in-office procedures.
- Apply and remove splints, braces, bandages, and dressings.
- Educate patients on conditions, treatments, medications, and home care.
- Prepare patient face sheets for clinic days obtaining previous testing reports and documenting previous treatments
- Obtain insurance authorizations and benefits for surgery procedures and in office procedures
- Document accurately in EHR system – familiar with MODMED a plus
- Maintain clean sterile technique and keep exam rooms stocked for clinic
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical staff
- Process disability forms, work, medical necessity notes for patients
- and respond to patient inquiries
- Explain Orthopedic procedures, treatment plans and medication instructions
- Review treatment plans – pre and post operative instructions with patients and caregivers
- Provide emotional support to patients dealing with pain, limited mobility, or surgery.
- Assist with surgery scheduling at hospital and surgery center
- Obtain preoperative medical clearances, lab work for surgery patients
- Provide patients with detailed pre-op and post op instructions
- Ensure completion of all necessary paperwork for all surgeries
- Coordinate logistics between patient, surgeon, and facilities for surgery
Skills
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1+ year of clinical experience, preferably in orthopedics or a specialty clinic
- Knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and orthopedic terminology
- Familiarity with the ModMed EMR a plus
- Ability to multitask in a high-volume setting
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation

Pay: $22.00 – $29.00 per hour
