Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing essential support to Orthopedic Surgeons while ensuring high-quality patient care. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for performing clinical and administrative tasks, assisting with patient intake, and maintaining accurate medical records.

Responsibilities

  • Assist healthcare providers in delivering patient care across various settings including outpatient clinics and inpatient facilities.
  • Perform vital sign checks and document patient information accurately in EHR systems.
  • Conduct patient intake procedures, including gathering medical history and current medications.
  • Administer medications as directed by physicians and ensure proper documentation.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist during procedures as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical environment.
  • Utilize medical terminology effectively for communication with patients and staff.
  • Support administrative functions such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and coding using ICD guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in emergency medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics, and other specialties as required.
  • Provide exceptional patient service to enhance the overall experience within the clinic or hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role within healthcare settings such as hospitals or clinics.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and basic life support techniques.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems for effective documentation and patient management.
  • Experience in urgent care or emergency medicine is highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform intake procedures efficiently while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Understanding of ICD coding practices for accurate billing processes.
  • Experience working in a Level I or Level II trauma center is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide compassionate care to diverse patient populations including pediatrics (PICU) and geriatrics.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 – $25.00 per hour
