Programs are delivered online to a worldwide cohort, on-campus in a stadium environment at GIS Brussels, or through a distance learning format with short residentials. These residentials take place in major sports cities such as London, Miami, and Melbourne and include learning experiences at iconic venues like Wembley Stadium, Inter Miami’s Chase Stadium, and the Melbourne Cricket Ground. This flexible model allows students to advance their ambitions from virtually anywhere while fitting their studies around existing commitments.

Role Description The Masters of Business Administration – Football Business at GIS is a full-time, on-site academic role based in Toronto, ON. Learners enrolled in this program will engage in advanced study of football business and broader sports management, including strategic planning, governance, finance, marketing, and operations within the global football industry. Day-to-day activities include attending scheduled lectures and seminars, participating in case studies and group projects, completing readings and research tasks, and contributing to discussions focused on current issues in football business. Participants will also work on applied assignments and capstone projects that connect theory with practice, analyzing real-world clubs, leagues, and commercial partners. Throughout the program, learners will be expected to collaborate with peers, interact with industry speakers, and build a professional network to support future career opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Business Administration and Business Management, with an interest in applying these disciplines to football and sports industries.
  • Well-developed Analytical Skills to interpret data, assess business performance, and evaluate strategic options in sports organizations.
  • Effective Communication abilities, including written, verbal, and presentation skills for academic work and professional engagement.
  • Understanding of Finance principles relevant to budgeting, investment, revenue generation, and financial planning in sports contexts.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, economics, sports management, or a related field, or significant professional experience in sport or business.
  • Demonstrated motivation to pursue a career in football business or the wider sports sector, with the capacity to work full-time in an intensive academic environment.
  • Ability to collaborate in diverse teams, adapt to a dynamic learning environment, and engage with a global cohort and industry professionals.
