High School Spanish Teacher

POSITION: Full Time 1.0 FTE High School Spanish Teacher

REPORTS TO: High School Principal

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid State of Michigan teaching certificate for Spanish (FF endorsement code required)
• Successful preparation for and attainment of high student achievement through effective instructional practices
• Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with students of all ability levels to meet their academic, behavioral, and emotional needs; proven ability to communicate with parents and other educators
• Strong interpersonal skills with secondary students
• Ability to foster a classroom culture that is engaging, student-focused, and effectively managed
• Excellent communication skills
• Commitment to participate broadly in the school as a club adviser and/or athletic coach

SALARY & BENEFITS: Per Master Agreement (contract is under negotiation for 2026-27)

• Up to Step 9 on the WEA salary schedule with applicable years of experience and Superintendent approval.
• Up to a $3,000 signing bonus, depending on qualifications
• $1,000 Bonus for obtaining and maintaining a National Board Certification
• Comprehensive retirement and insurance benefits packages (or $5,000 cash in lieu of health insurance)
• Annual paid time off, as follows:
• • 4 Personal Days
  • 12 Sick Days
• Longevity pay, once eligible
• Early Notification and Early Retirement Incentives, if qualified
• Sick bank payout available up to $15,000 upon retirement, if qualified
