Girls Basketball Coach

Job Summary
Elliott County High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as the Girls Basketball Coach. This position requires a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes while promoting teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in basketball, excellent leadership skills, and a desire to mentor young athletes both on and off the court.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement practice plans, game strategies, and training programs that enhance the skills and performance of student-athletes.
• Conduct regular team practices and workouts, ensuring a focus on skill development, conditioning, and teamwork.
• Organize and manage all aspects of the girls basketball program, including scheduling games, coordinating transportation, and overseeing team logistics.
• Foster a positive team culture that promotes respect, discipline, and sportsmanship among players.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and performance.
• Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and promote a balance between academics and athletics.
• Collaborate with other coaches and staff to support the overall athletic program and school community.
• Attend and participate in coaching clinics, workshops, and professional development opportunities to stay current with coaching techniques and trends.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines set forth by the school, district, and governing athletic associations.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and training techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to reach their full potential.
• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
• First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Must pass background checks and adhere to school district policies and procedures.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary for practices and games.
