Mount Royal University Cougars Athletics and Recreation takes an inclusive, student-centered approach in offering groups and individuals opportunities to bolster their health and wellness through a wide range of programming and activities ranging from beginner sports enthusiast to our eight Cougars varsity athletic programs.

About The Role

Fitness Centre Associates are enthusiastic individuals who have a positive attitude and take pride in a job well done. They also have an outgoing, fun, yet professional attitude. They are responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience to our members in support of our Recreation and Athletic programs.

Seeking candidates with flexible schedules for mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. From September 1st to December 31st, 2026

Responsibilities

  • Supervise users and the surrounding area actively, and enforce the rules and regulations.
  • Assist at the fitness centre desk
  • Assist with lending small equipment to our users
  • Ensure the fitness centre is clean and tidy at all times
  • Identify and report when equipment is in need of repairs
  • Perform regular area equipment checks
  • Handle and resolve customer complaints
  • Provide information and retain knowledge about various personal training packages, memberships, programs, and services
  • Perform various tasks assigned by direct supervisors or shift leads or other Recreation staff
  • Assist with facility setup for courses and rental groups
  • Respond to and assist with various first aid situations

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1 – 6 months of related experience
  • A passion for movement, people, and providing a welcoming, safe environment.
  • CPR and First Aid

Salary: $15.45 – $19.44 per hour
