Position: Fall 2026 Intramural Sports Official
Responsibilities
- Managing all Intramural Sports game activities, applying proper rules and mechanics to enhance the participant experience
- Enforcing proper penalties when required by rule
- Keeping a knowledge of all applicable rules, mechanics, policies, and procedures
- Keeping score and statistics when required
- Attending training clinics for each sport
- Advising the Assistant Director on necessary changes, potential problems, and recent successes
- Attending regularly scheduled staff meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Prior experience in sports officiating is preferred, but not required
Preferred Skills
- Effective communication skills
- Awareness of safety concerns and risk management
- Ability to manage conflict, often in high stress situations
- Maintain up‑to‑date rules and mechanics knowledge in each sport
- Ability to work a majority of hours in the late afternoons and at night
- Some weekend hours could be required
