Competitive Gymnastics Coach – Xcel Team (Bronze through Sapphire) Jobs in Ashburn, VA at Dominique Dawes Gymnastics & Ninja Academy
Team Dawes is looking for a Competitive Gymnastics Coach to develop, mentor, and lead Xcel athletes from Bronze through Sapphire levels.
Working alongside the Director of Team and fellow coaches, you’ll guide gymnasts through advanced skill development and competition preparation at the regional and national level.
This role is equal parts technical and relational — you bring elite gymnastics knowledge and a genuine investment in each athlete’s growth, both on and off the mat.
SCHEDULE & SETTING
- Evening and weekend coaching hours required.
- Occasional schedule adjustments for competitions, meetings, or special events
- Travel required for meets, trainings, and team functions
- Indoor gym environment; high-energy, fast-paced, and often loud
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Design and implement skill-appropriate, competition-aligned training plans following USAG standards
- Coach athletes on advanced technique and build competition-ready routines across all four events
- Prepare athletes for meets by developing consistency, confidence, and composure under pressure
- Foster a high-performance mindset through goal-setting, self-discipline, and mental resilience work
- Oversee competition logistics including choreography, warm-up protocols, equipment checks, and athlete readiness
- Attend and coach at meets, demonstrating professionalism and leadership throughout
- Collaborate with parents, judges, and team staff to support each gymnast’s progress and well-being
- Maintain compliance with all USAG and Dominique Dawes Academy safety, conduct, and training standards
- Stay current on rule changes, industry updates, and best practices in competitive gymnastics
- Champion a team culture of excellence, respect, and positivity
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2 years of competitive gymnastics coaching experience with a track record of athlete development
- USAG Competitive Coach Membership (active)
- SafeSport Certification (active)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Extended periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and moving throughout the gym
- Must be able to safely spot gymnasts of varying sizes during skill training
Pay: $20.00 – $26.00 per hour
