Co-Director for Children’s Fitness Center Jobs in Portland, OR at My Gym SW Portland
At My Gym Children’s Fitness Center learning through play is the My Gym way. We offer programs for ages 3 months – 10 years. Our location is growing so we’re in need of a co-director who will work closely with the owner to keep the momentum going!
We will train you to lead our engaging gymnastics-based classes, camps, and birthday parties. Plus, you’ll take on admin roles that include lead follow up, event coordination, team training, and ensuring the gym is always in tip top shape.
Our number one goal is to be a safe and welcoming place for kids to learn through play and many families stay enrolled for years because of that focus.

● Competitive Pay: Pay is $25/hour. Plus, monthly bonuses when enrollment goals are met and tips when working birthday parties.
● Benefits: Paid time off after 6 months of employment. $100 per month stipend towards health insurance. Holiday pay for the 5 holidays the gym is fully closed.

Responsibilities
● Our first priority is always leading amazing classes. Member retention is integral to future growth! First, we will train you to become a dynamic teacher, then we will teach you the admin side of the job.
● Lead by example. Foster a fun and welcoming atmosphere for all enrolled members and the team. When you walk in the door, leave all outside stressors behind.
● While teaching, offer guidance and support to parents to help children reach their developmental milestones,
● Clean, clean, clean! We strive to be known as the cleaning indoor activity around. We are always cleaning our equipment between classes.
● Work closely with the owner to follow our systems for leads, events, and other important admin tasks.
Qualifications
● Background in gymnastics, dance, musical theater, or fitness is required.
● Prior teaching of young children.
● Experience in a management role.
● Able to quickly memorize weekly curriculum such as, a cappella puppet shows, songs, and class announcements.
● Excellent communication skills are a must as open communication is the key to a cohesive team.
● Positive and flexible attitude. We use positive discipline while teaching and sometimes need to pivot in the middle of class or camp to ensure it runs the best it can for that group of children.
● Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds daily.
● Capacity to stand for extended periods, this is a very active job! Most shifts are 6-8 hours and we’re teaching or cleaning for the majority of it. Admin duties will only take 30minutes-1 hour each shift.
● Must enroll in Central Background Check Registry with the state of Oregon as our Preschool program is a Registered Program through the state
