About Us
Litchfield County Axe House is a high-energy entertainment venue combining axe throwing, great drinks, and a social atmosphere. We also host private events and travel to fairs and off-site events with our mobile axe throwing trailers.
Position Overview
We are looking for reliable, outgoing individuals to join our team as Bartender / Axe Throwing Coaches. This is a dual-role position that requires strong customer service skills, attention to safety, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
You will be responsible for both serving guests at the bar and guiding them through safe and enjoyable axe throwing experiences.
Responsibilities
Bartending Duties:
- Serve beer, wine, and canned alcoholic beverages to guests
- Check IDs and ensure compliance with all Connecticut alcohol laws and regulations
- Monitor guests for signs of intoxication and refuse service when necessary
- Handle cash and POS transactions accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized bar area and restock inventory as needed
Axe Throwing Coach Duties:
- Instruct guests on proper axe throwing techniques and safety procedures
- Enforce all safety rules and maintain a controlled throwing environment
- Engage with groups to create a fun, energetic experience
- Monitor lanes and provide assistance or correction as needed
General Responsibilities:
- Set up and clean up facility before, during, and after shifts
- Maintain cleanliness of bar, lanes, and common areas
- Assist with private events, parties, and group bookings
- Travel and work off-site events and fairs using mobile axe throwing trailers (when needed)
- Work as part of a team to ensure a positive guest experience
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old (21+ preferred)
- Ability to obtain any required alcohol service certifications (if applicable)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups and leading activities
- Must be reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Ability to lift and handle axes safely and be on your feet for extended periods
- Weekend and evening availability required
- Valid driver’s license is a plus (for off-site events)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous bartending, hospitality, or entertainment experience
- Experience working events or festivals
- Outgoing and energetic personality
