Essential Functions

- Plans and supervises part time athletic staff; schedules the use of facilities for programs and ensures their safe usage; ensures adequate supervision and oversight of programs; orders equipment, supplies, and other items for athletic programs and concessions.
- Recruit, hire, schedule, evaluate, train, direct, and discipline athletic and concession staff. Maintains high visibility and remains accessible to the public.
- Greets visitors; answers telephone and emails; receives inquiries, complaints, and service requests and resolves them within the framework of established policies and procedures or forwards them to the appropriate party for disposition; assists participants with the completion of standardized forms or documents; maintains records and files.
- Responsible for youth and adult leagues and programs. Schedules and supervises all sports practices, games, tournaments, and use of gymnasium and athletic fields.
- Monitors the day-to-day operations of programs and leagues, including making site visits, handling and resolving complaints, and ensuring that programs and leagues have required materials and supplies.
- Operates North Park, Outdoor Pool concessions. Manages inventory. Schedules staff. Ensure all operations are using proper cash-handling procedures and ensure a proper daily balance of revenue collected.
- Promotes all athletic programming, including oversight of the registration process using RecTrac; sends direct e-mail with program information to current and past program participants.
- Ensures the safety and well-being of all program participants; and observes patron and coach participation during programs to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and rules.
- Assists in preparing and developing athletic budgets.
- Must be courteous and helpful to customers, staff, and the public.
- Performs additional duties as required.
- Follow city and department policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School or GED and one to three years of experience with customer service and program development in a recreation environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
Special Qualifications
- Obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications from an approved organization within six months of hire.
- May require possession of, or ability to obtain, specific licenses and/or certifications depending on departmental assignment.
- Must meet and maintain all training and education requirements for position.
Pay ranges from $19.15 per hour up to $30.64 per hour, plus a generous benefit package.
