POSITION AVAILABLE for School Year Assistant Softball Coach DESCRIPTION
Instruct student athletes in the fundamentals, strategies, rules, and physical training needed for individual and team success in softball. Promote participation, self-confidence, work ethic, and good sportsmanship in each student involved.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports directly to the Athletic Director and the Head Softball Coach.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have softball coaching experience.
- Knowledgeable about the rules and fundamental techniques required of the sport.
- Ability to obtain current CPR / First Aid when applicable.
- Ability to work effectively with sport coaching staff, parents, and school staff
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complies with department / district policies.
- Maintains consistent communication with Athletic Director
- Develop positive self image with athletics
- Utilize sound teaching methods to develop skills / techniques.
- Demonstrate public support / loyalty for coaches.
- Demonstrate positive team sportsmanship toward opponents and officials.
- Demonstrates effective management of pre-contest details.
- Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
OTHER
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Work with parents and children of diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community.
- Perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and Board of Education policies.
