Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Assistant Dance Coach to join our dynamic team at Powerhouse Cheer Academy. In this role, you will support the lead dance coach in developing and implementing engaging dance programs for students of all ages and skill levels. Must be able to demonstrate experience, leadership, and creativity. Team can range from Mini’s to Seniors. We are located in multiple cities and travel is required.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and delivering dance classes, rehearsals, and performances across various styles such as hip hop, majorette, and HBCU style dance.
- Support the lead coach in supervising students during practice sessions, ensuring safety and proper technique
- Help with warm-up routines, stretching exercises, and conditioning activities to prevent injuries
- Foster a motivating atmosphere that encourages teamwork, discipline, and creativity among students
- Contribute to behavior management by maintaining a positive environment and addressing minor disciplinary issues effectively
- Support the organization of dance events, competitions, and showcases by preparing students and managing logistics
- Maintain equipment, studio cleanliness, and ensure all safety protocols are followed at all times
Experience
- Prior experience in dance coaching or teaching physical education is highly desirable
- Background in sports coaching or martial arts such as karate or judo is a plus, demonstrating discipline and leadership skills
- Experience working with children or young students in a childcare or educational setting
- Knowledge of swimming or climbing activities is beneficial for supporting diverse physical activities
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques to motivate students and maintain a positive learning environment
- Certification or experience in lifeguarding is advantageous but not required; willingness to learn safety procedures is essential

Pay: $22.17 – $26.70 per hour
