Assistant Coach – Children’s Gymnastics

This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Part-Time Gymnastics Assistant Coach who will be all-in on our mission and who will teach alongside the Coach and provide instruction to the children enrolled in the gymnastics courses.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:
Required: Currently in High School or have attained High School Degree.

EXPERIENCE:
Required: Experience working with children.

Preferred:

• Gymnastics/tumbling experience.
• Teaching/coaching experience.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Train alongside a Coach to learn spotting techniques and how to lead a class.
• Assist Gymnastics Coach with all aspects of classroom management.
• Engage and be involved with students.
• Ensure safety at all times.
• Ensure cleanliness of all spaces where students are present.
• Answer phones, emails, and help with registration as needed.
• Participate in and complete performance assessments/evaluations as assigned.
• Perform other work-related duties as needed.

Salary: Amarillo College follows a lag pay strategy, with starting offers typically between the minimum and midpoint of the pay grade, rarely reaching the maximum to support long-term growth within each position.

Pay grade 3 Amarillo College Pay Grades (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies as needed. Possess the ability to walk, bend, stand, squat or sit on the floor (with students). Be able to physically respond quickly in an emergency.
