Location: Greater Sudbury
Serve the community by ensuring aquatic safety as a Lifeguard/Instructor at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario in Sudbury.
This role offers part-time hours focusing on lifesaving skills and swimming education.
Under the leadership of the Supervisor of Aquatics, you will perform lifeguard duties while delivering engaging, values-driven programming. The position requires a National Lifeguard certification and a YMCA Swim Instructor Certificate. You will teach, evaluate and promote various aquatic programs while engaging with YMCA members to build meaningful relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure safety of patrons while swimming
• Manage first aid situations effectively
• Maintain equipment in safe working condition
• Develop and evaluate aquatic lesson plans
• Complete daily janitorial tasks and reports
Requirements:
• Valid National Lifeguard certification
• Certificate in Swim Instruction or equivalent
• Understanding of pool operations
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
• Recent First Aid and CPR C certification
