Responsibilities
- Plan and execute basketball practices tailored to various age groups and skill levels
- Lead engaging drills that improve fundamental skills such as shooting, dribbling, passing, and defense
- Organize friendly games and tournaments that promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition
- Monitor player behavior during sessions, applying effective behavior management techniques to ensure a safe environment
- Provide guidance on physical fitness, nutrition, and overall health related to athletic performance
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and program coordinators to support each child’s development goals
- Maintain equipment safety standards and ensure all training areas are clean and well-organized
Requirements
- Prior experience in sports coaching, especially basketball or related activities such as cheerleading or martial arts like Karate or Judo
- Demonstrated ability to work with children and young students in a teaching or childcare setting
- Knowledge of physical education principles and experience in teaching physical activities such as swimming, climbing, or martial arts
- Lifeguard experience is a plus for understanding safety protocols during water-related activities
- Strong communication skills to motivate students and manage group behavior effectively
- Ability to lead by example with enthusiasm, energy, and a positive attitude
- Certification or background in health club or gym environments is advantageous
