🌙 Working Hours: Evening and weekend availability required

💰 Pay: £15 per hour

West Ham United Women are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Women’s Pathway Physical Development Coach to join our Football Science and Medical department.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the physical development of players across our Women’s Pathway, helping athletes prepare for training, match performance and progression towards senior football.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality physical development programmes and contributing to an integrated approach across coaching, medical and performance teams.

Position

⚒️ Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery and ongoing development of the Women’s Pathway Physical Development Framework.
  • Plan, deliver and review physical development sessions, including:
    • Physical preparation sessions
    • On-pitch physical development
    • Gym-based physical development
  • Support physical profiling, growth and maturation monitoring, and player development processes.
  • Help players work towards physical development benchmarks and progression targets.
  • Contribute to individual player development plans to support progression through the pathway.
  • Work collaboratively with coaching, medical and performance staff to deliver an integrated approach to player development.
  • Support the physical aspects of return-to-play programmes for Women's Pathway players.
  • Contribute to the continued improvement of physical development processes and practices.

  • Engage in departmental professional development and training opportunities.
  • Contribute to research, innovation and evidence-informed practice to improve player performance and development.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of current research and best practice within female athlete development.

Requirements

✅ About You

We are looking for a motivated individual with a passion for developing young female athletes within a high-performance football environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Working towards a postgraduate degree in Sports Science or a related field.
  • Working towards UKSCA accreditation, or evidence of progression towards this qualification (or equivalent).
  • First Aid qualification.
  • UKAD certification completed.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Experience working within football, academy or high-performance sporting environments.
  • Experience supporting female athletes.
  • Knowledge of physical development, athletic performance and player monitoring.
