The Account Manager drives sustainable business growth and expands the market presence
of Decathlon’s Team Sports products—with a secondary focus on Racket Sports—through strategic wholesale partnerships.
By building strong, long-term relationships and ensuring mutual value creation,
the Account Manager ensures operational excellence, compliance, and optimized product performance across the entire partnership lifecycle.
RESPONSIBILITY 1:
Manage account partnerships to drive growth
★ Build and nurturing strong, trust-based, long-lasting relationships with clients
★ Serve as the main point of contact for all client inquiries, concerns, and needs related team sports
and racket sports items
★ Lead the building of commercial plans with partners based on sales data, seasonal cycles, and
market potential
★ Negotiate to renew or expand existing contracts and follow up on merchandising execution and
product listing
● Support trade marketing plan
RESPONSIBILITY 2:
Build Sustainable Commercial Partnerships
★ Ensure smooth operational setup in collaboration with internal teams (supply, finance, digital)
★ Develop joint business plans focused on long-term growth, profitability, and brand alignment
★ Define shared sales targets and drive category expansion within each account
★ respect framework to negotiate commercial conditions, product assortment, and trading terms with
newly onboarded accounts
★ Ensure financial follow up in collaboration with finance department and escalate any key financial
information he may observe on the field (competition / partners)
RESPONSIBILITY 3:
Optimize value proposition for account to increase performance
★ Ensure fair and sustainable margins for each partner
★ Analyze sell-through performance per product and partner, adapting assortment to optimize
availability and profitability
★ Build together with sports/headquarter the seasonal and permanent assortment per partner in
alignment with global offer strategy
RESPONSIBILITY 4:
Contribute to the project development and strategic efficiency
★ Partner with supply chain and wholesale partner’s logistics teams to optimize domestic delivery
networks for enhanced operational efficiency.
★ Participate actively in the project team to boost internal alignment and delivery efficiency
★ Collaborate with HQ to ensure that insights from Japanese consumers and retail staff are reflected in
product development and assortment strategies.
★ Help structure cost management and result-tracking per account
Must-have (Mandatory):
● Experience in team-based sports (e.g., Football/Soccer, Basketball, or other ball-related sports).
● Professional-level fluency in both Japanese and English (capable of business negotiations and
reporting to HQ).
● Several years of full-time professional work experience.
Nice-to-have (Preferred):
● Retail/Store Experience: Previous experience working in sports retail (specialty stores or big-box
retailers) or general retail environments, including part-time/student roles.
