WCHS Freshman Volleyball Coach

Summary
Webster County High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our athletic department as a Freshman Volleyball Coach. This full-time position is responsible for developing and implementing a competitive volleyball program for our freshman athletes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the game, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement training programs, practice schedules, and game strategies for the freshman volleyball team.
• Conduct daily practices, ensuring that athletes are improving their skills, teamwork, and understanding of the game.
• Coach the team during games, providing guidance and support to athletes in real-time.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
• Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team progress, schedules, and expectations.
• Monitor and evaluate athlete performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
• Collaborate with other coaches and staff to enhance the overall athletic program at Webster County High School.
• Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state athletic policies and regulations.
• Organize and oversee team events, including fundraising activities and community service projects.
• Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay current with best practices in coaching and player development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field preferred.
• Previous coaching experience, particularly at the high school level, is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by practice and game schedules.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all athletes.
• First Aid and CPR certification is preferred or must be obtained within the first year of employment.
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to transport athletes to games and events as needed.
• Must pass a background check and adhere to all school and district policies regarding coaching and student-athlete conduct.
