Duties
- Lead and facilitate diverse camp activities including sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor adventures to promote fun and learning.
- Manage group behavior with effective classroom management techniques to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all children.
- Provide first aid when necessary, following safety protocols to address minor injuries or health concerns promptly.
- Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance through tailored activities and compassionate supervision.
- Collaborate with fellow counselors to plan daily schedules, organize events, and ensure smooth operation of camp programs.
- Foster positive relationships with campers by encouraging teamwork, respect, and Christian values where appropriate.
- Maintain clear communication with parents or guardians regarding camper progress or concerns (as needed).
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or summer camps is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies to support diverse needs.
- Certifications such as first aid or CPR are preferred but not required; training will be provided if necessary.
- Background in teaching, special education, or early childhood education is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead activities confidently while ensuring safety and engagement for all participants.
- Experience in sports coaching, theater arts, or Christian counseling can enhance your ability to connect with campers creatively and meaningfully.
