The Welland Pelham Community Council is inviting enthusiastic volunteers to bolster local programs for Special Olympics Ontario. As a council member, you will work to welcome new athletes, initiate health and wellness activities, and build community awareness. Your engagement will help create diverse and inclusive sports opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Welcome new athletes and volunteers into the community
• Create and support local sporting initiatives
• Promote health and wellness activities for athletes
• Manage communications through community social media
• Attend monthly council meetings to discuss initiatives
Requirements:
• Passionate about inclusion and community sports
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Organized, reliable, and proactive attitude
• Previous volunteer experience is an asset
• Commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities
