Job Description:
The Bethlehem Area School District is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to serve as Volunteer Coaches across various sports programs. Volunteer Coaches will assist head and assistant coaches in fostering skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive athletic experience for student-athletes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the head and assistant coaches during practices and games
- Encourage positive behavior, teamwork, and sportsmanship among student-athletes
- Help with equipment setup, drills, or basic skill development as directed by the coaching staff
- Assist in maintaining a safe and respectful environment
- Follow instructions from the head coach and athletic department staff
Qualifications:
- General familiarity with the sport and interest in youth development
- Positive attitude and willingness to support the program’s goals
- Ability to follow direction and work well as part of a team
Requirements:
- Must complete all required coaching education and annual training courses as mandated by the school district and/or state athletic association.
- Must undergo and receive a satisfactory result on a pre-employment drug screening.
- Must successfully complete and submit all required background clearances in accordance with Pennsylvania School Code employment requirements. Instructions for completing these clearances can be found at:
