This position is designed for individuals who excel at working with young people and operate best in dynamic environments. At Unbound Academy, a tuition-free, fully virtual charter school, students advance rapidly through academic content using AI-powered tools. They then dedicate the remainder of their day to interactive, live workshops centered on life skills, teamwork, and building self-assurance. Your role is to ensure these experiences run seamlessly and feel meaningful to every student.
You will serve as the connective force behind the student experience. You'll facilitate transitions, guide small groups, sustain energy and engagement, and provide support when students need encouragement or direction. Content delivery isn't your responsibility—but your presence is essential to making everything work.

What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating live virtual workshops by overseeing breakout rooms, managing transitions, maintaining pacing, and ensuring smooth group flow
- Promoting student participation using chat, verbal shout-outs, gentle prompts, and one-on-one check-ins
- Ensuring students remain engaged, confident, and connected throughout each learning session
- Providing logistical support to lead educators to keep workshops running without interruption
- Serving as a reliable, supportive presence within student clubs and life-skills programming
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Delivering academic instruction or teaching subject-specific content
- Developing lesson plans, grading assignments, or evaluating academic performance
- Building curriculum or facilitating workshops on your own
- Remaining passive or on the sidelines—this is an active, high-energy position
Virtual Learning Assistant Key Responsibilities
Facilitate engaging, virtual learning environments by ensuring students stay organized, motivated, and fully involved throughout each workshop experience.
Basic Requirements
- Available to begin immediately or at the end of July (one of the two).
- A minimum of 1 year of experience coaching, mentoring, tutoring, or working with youth
- Educational background rooted in U.S., Canadian, or U.K. school systems (K–16); must have attended school in one of these countries
- Student-centered presence with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Willing to work in a hybrid capacity in Arizona.

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $20 USD/hour, which equates to $40,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
