Role Description The Varsity Sport Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Paradise, NL, supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of varsity-level school sports programs. The Varsity Sport Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Varsity and Junior Varsity Coordinators in the delivery of tertiary programs within the Varsity and Junior Varsity Programs. The Varsity Assistant will be responsible for coordinating program activities, maintaining records, supporting communications with member schools, and assisting with the successful administration of tournaments and recognition programs.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma specializing in sport administration, recreation, community recreation or other related field.
  • Knowledge and experience in a variety of sports.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, reliability, and attention to detail when coordinating schedules, equipment, and events.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff, schools, and external partners.
  • Ability to work on-site in St John’s, NL, including some evenings or weekends during peak sport seasons.
