Varsity Head Boys Golf Coach Jobs in Phoenixville, USA at Phoenixville Area School District

  • Develop, monitor, supervise, and train student-athletes to play and participate golf, both beginners and advanced students.
  • Commit to building relationships with and have a willingness to coach and mentor student-athletes, academically and athletically.
  • Instruct student-athletes in fundamental skills, strategies,and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
  • Instruct/guide student-athletes tolead to the formulation and enhancement of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, self-confidence and good sportsmanship.

Performance Responsibilities

  • Cooperate in a timely manner, with middle and high schoolofficeand the District Athletic Department,in regard to requests for pertinent information that mightbe periodically required.
  • Meetall requirements set forth by the District

    Board of Education, the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA),and the Pennsylvania Department of Education

  • Model the behavior expected of our student-athletes including timeliness to practices, being positive and enthusiastic, being respectful, and practicing constructive criticism while upholding the disciplines of the program.
  • Seta positive example at all times while with student-athletes, bedressed appropriately at all practices and games, and maintain a suitable sideline conductat all times.
  • Provide all applicable in-season training rules as well as any that may apply to out-of-season conduct to team members in writing prior to the start of the season. Follow appropriate due process procedures when violations occur.
  • Check and Review the status of academic eligibility for all prospective and current student-athletes as directed by the Athletic Department
  • Follow the District Athletic Department Policy as outlined in the Coaches Handbook and meetall criteria as outlined in the job description.
  • Recognize the need to be aware of and implement all applicable administrative policies set forth by the District Board of Education, Superintendent of Schools, School Principals, Conference Leagues,and PIAA.
  • Schedule and completea full season of contests including State tournament games.
  • Beginpre-season practices on the first day permitted for the sport per PIAA rules and regulations
  • Participate in clinics and other available programs to improve coaching performance.
  • Participate in School events (i.e. Awards Night,Athletic Boosters Meetings, etc.).
  • Show physical vitality and enthusiasm for the sport and usegood judgment in decision-making.
  • Acceptand profit from constructive criticism and suggestions for improving coaching performance.
  • Is competent in techniques of the sport with players responding positively to directions given.
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt properly to changing game situations.
  • Is well-versed and knowledgeable in matters pertaining to the sport as well as lookat ways to constantly improve knowledge and coaching techniques.
  • Is innovative in using new coaching techniques and ideas in addition to already proven methods of coaching.
  • Ensure that teamis well prepared for opponent(s).
  • Provide motivation for team to meet/exceed their goals and stressthe value of acceptable personal behavior by each student-athlete.
  • Actively promote good sportsmanship at all times.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of equipment and supplies.

Trainings/Certifications

  • Successful participation in a similar activity in high school and/or college. Evidence of successful past coaching experience at the high school or college level is preferred.
  • Provide a satisfactory result on a Police Records Check, Child Abuse Check, and FBI Fingerprint Background Check.

SALARY

Stipend according to PAEA collective bargaining agreement
