Position Summary
The Physical Education & Athletic Director is responsible for ensuring required physical education (PE) classes for our middle and high school students. They will lead PE at our Upper School for 6th – 12th grade, and will also coordinate the after school sports offerings at the Upper School, scheduling games, working with coaches and planning for each sports season across the school year.
Ideal candidates have solid prior experience in a similar role, possess a strong interest in Waldorf education, a multi-disciplinary background, and are committed to serving a diverse population of learners. All full‑time positions are expected to deepen their understanding of child development based on the Principles of Public Waldorf Education through continued professional development.
Specific Responsibilities
- Coordinate after school sports offerings
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of teaching experience preferred
- Waldorf teacher training, Spatial Dynamics® training, Bothmer Gymnastics training, and/or Waldorf teaching experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
Compensation
Competitive salary commensurate with experience, $43,000–$58,000. Benefits include health insurance, life insurance, paid time off, and professional development funding.
