This role demands a unique blend of skills: expert horsemanship, barn management, and client interaction. Our facility is currently looking for an experienced trainer and barn manager who can take charge of feeding and overseeing 100 horses, manage lesson and trail horse programs, and maintain the barn and grounds. This position offers a five-day workweek, competitive pay, bonuses, and private housing.
Looking for someone with equine work history and experience with a long-term career goal to continue the growth of an established lesson and equine training program. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have previous teaching experience, and a passion for working with riders from beginner to experienced skills. Must also possess the ability to work with horses of all ages and skill levels from yearlings to greenbroke to advanced aged horses.
Please Note: This is not an entry-level or training position. Applicants must already be confident and proficient riders. Candidates will be required to pass riding, saddling, and teaching evaluations before being considered for employment.
Responsibilities
- Leading guided trail rides
- Teaching riding lessons to students of varying skill levels
- Feeding and caring for horses
- Grooming, bathing, saddling, and unsaddling horses
- General ranch and barn duties
- Maintaining a safe and professional environment for riders and horses
Qualifications
- Proven equine experience with a verifiable work history
- Previous teaching or instructional experience preferred
- Self-motivated, dependable, and professional
- Passion for working with riders of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced riders
- Experience handling horses of various ages and training levels, from young horses to seasoned mounts
- Willingness to perform all aspects of horse care and ranch operations
- Interest in long-term growth within lesson programs and equine training
