Westonbirt School – Physical Education Teacher & Head of Rugby
Westonbirt School is seeking an engaging and talented teacher with the relevant skills and experience to take on the role of Teacher of Physical Education and Head of Rugby. The successful candidate will coach Rugby to national level, teach Physical Education up to GCSE and BTEC, and provide exceptional learning experiences within and beyond the classroom.
Responsibilities
- Deliver physical education lessons for students up to GCSE and BTEC.
- Coach the School Rugby team to national level—including training, coaching, and strategy.
- Arrange and participate in Saturdays as well as National (and potentially International) travel with the Rugby team.
- Oversee the sports department, including Lacrosse, Netball, Rugby, Hockey, Cricket and emerging sports such as Football, Golf, Tennis, Swimming, Athletics, Basketball, Equestrianism and Polo.
- Utilise the school’s extensive sports facilities, including acres of playing fields, indoor Sports Centre, full‑size Astroturf pitch, 25 m swimming pool, 9‑hole Golf Course and cricket squares.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong teaching and coaching experience, especially in physical education and rugby.
- Ability to develop and run comprehensive lesson plans and coaching programmes.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children.

Employment Details
