Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Taekwondo Instructor to inspire and guide students of all ages in mastering martial arts techniques, building confidence, and fostering discipline. As a vital member of our fitness and recreation team, you will lead engaging classes, promote a safe training environment, and help students achieve their personal goals through structured instruction. Responsibilities
- Lead dynamic Taekwondo classes for children, teens, and adults, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed.
- Develop customized training plans that cater to different skill levels and age groups.
- Demonstrate martial arts skills such as kicks, punches, forms (poomsae), sparring, and self-defense techniques with clarity and enthusiasm.
- Foster a positive learning environment by encouraging teamwork, respect, and perseverance among students.
- Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and motivate participants to reach their full potential.
- Enforce safety guidelines including AED operation when necessary, ensuring a secure space for all participants.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to organize special events, competitions, or demonstrations that showcase student achievements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Taekwondo or other martial arts such as Karate or Judo; certification from recognized martial arts organizations is preferred.
- Background in sports-specific training instruction, sports coaching, or teaching physical education.
- Prior experience working with children or students in a classroom or recreational setting.
- Strong communication skills to effectively instruct diverse groups and manage behavior positively.
- Knowledge of health club operations, gym environments, or sports facility management is a plus.
- Ability to operate AED equipment confidently in emergency situations.
- Experience with childcare activities such as swimming, cheerleading, climbing, or basketball is advantageous.
- Passion for fitness education combined with excellent behavior management skills to foster respectful and disciplined classes.
