Swim Team Coach (T/TH 3:45pm-7:15pm) – Ahwatukee Foothills Family YMCA

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A SWIM TEAM COACH:

• Spend your days by the pool
• Have fun coaching young swim team participants at meets and practices

• This is not an exhaustive list of job duties. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned.

REQUIREMENTS TO BE A SWIM TEAM COACH:

• Minimum age of 16.
• Must have one or more years of experience swimming in or coaching for competitive swim teams.
• Must be able to demonstrate swim coach skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
• Ability to intentionally incorporate the YMCA Program Goals into swim practices and meets.
• Ability to effectively communicate information with members, peers, and supervisors.
• Must be observant, safety conscious, and able to react calmly and quickly in an emergency.
• Ability to think in the abstract, solve problems, and make quick decisions under stress.
• Immediately notify the appropriate staff of any broken equipment or unsafe aspects of the pool.
