Instructors at Hudson Valley Swim seek to “empower safe swimmers for life” by teaching water safety and proper swim techniques to individuals of all ability levels from age 4 months through adult. Small class sizes with highly trained and experienced instructors, ensure a safe and fun aquatic experience for learners. Hudson Valley Swim is dedicated to developing safe, confident, life-long swimmers. We are looking for team mates who want to make a difference in the lives of others. Hudson Valley offers flexible scheduling for instructors and families at convenient indoor area locations year round.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Manage the aquatic environment with a focus on safety
- Assess student age and skills for appropriate class placement
- Teach swim skills to children and adults using the provided Hudson Valley Swim Curriculum
- Creatively incorporate diverse and fun activities into each lesson
- Observe and document participant skills and progress
- Assess participant’s swimming skills and progress
- Communicate promptly and effectively with participants and families
- Maintain high instructional standards to support program growth
- Maintain safety certifications (first aid, CPR, AED)
Qualifications
- A Minimum of 2 years swim instruction experience
- A positive, fun-loving, team attitude with a good sense of humor
- Proficient oral, written and typed communication skills
- Dedicated work ethic
- Love of teaching and water sports
- A desire to grow professionally
- Availability for Wednesday evening and Saturday morning classes
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
