Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive swim training programs tailored to individual skill levels and goals
- Lead engaging swim classes, ensuring proper technique, safety, and enjoyment for all participants
- Monitor swimmers during practice sessions and competitions to ensure safety protocols are followed
- Provide constructive feedback to help swimmers improve their strokes, endurance, and overall performance
- Maintain a safe environment by enforcing pool rules, supervising lifeguard staff, and operating AED (Automated External Defibrillator) equipment when necessary
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and team members about progress, schedules, and safety procedures
- Assist with event planning for swim meets or community outreach programs to promote aquatic activities
Experience
- Prior lifeguard experience with certification in CPR/AED/First Aid is highly preferred
- Demonstrated sports coaching or teaching experience in swimming or related sports such as martial arts (Karate, Judo), gymnastics (Climbing), or team sports (Basketball, Cheerleading)
- Strong communication skills to motivate and instruct diverse age groups effectively
- Background in sports-specific training instruction or physical education teaching is advantageous
- Experience working with children or students in a childcare or educational setting
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to foster positive learning environments
- Familiarity with health club or gym environments enhances understanding of fitness principles
