Overview
Join our vibrant Summer Sports Day Program as a Program Monitor at RecPlex and be a key player in creating an energetic, safe, and engaging environment for children 3rd through 8th grade. In this role, you will oversee basketball and volleyball activities and foster a fun atmosphere that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to combine your passion for sports, childcare, and education while making a positive impact on young participants’ summer experience. Hours are Monday through Thursday from 8am-5pm with a 1 hour break at lunch. Starting June 1st and ending August 6th.
Duties
- Supervise children during indoor sports activities to promote safety and enjoyment
- Implement age-appropriate informal sports coaching techniques to encourage participation and skill development
- Foster a positive environment by encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship, and respectful communication among participants
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children or in childcare settings such as daycare, camp counseling, tutoring, or babysitting is highly desirable
- Prior participation in organized basketball or volleyball team or coaching staff is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage children in a lively, motivating manner
