Summer Sports Camp Coordinator – Briargate

Overview:
We are seeking an energetic, organized, and enthusiastic Part-Time Summer Sports Camp Coordinator to lead and manage our youth summer sports program at the Briargate YMCA. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, has a passion for sports, and can create a fun, safe, and engaging environment for campers ages 5–14 while also supporting and directing camp staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and organize weekly camp schedules featuring a variety of sports and activities
• Coach and lead participants in multiple sports (e.g., basketball, soccer, flag football, etc.)
• Supervise and engage children ages 5–14 in a positive and inclusive manner
• Direct and support camp staff, providing guidance and ensuring smooth daily operations
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding camper progress, schedules, and any concerns
• Ensure a safe environment by following all safety protocols and procedures
• Set up and break down equipment daily
• Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development among campers

Preferred Skills:

• Previous camp coordination or leadership experience
• Background in physical education, recreation, or related field

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children, preferably in a camp, coaching, or educational setting
• Ability to coach and instruct a variety of sports
• Leadership experience and ability to direct staff effectively
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Energetic, reliable, and positive attitude
• CPR Certification (required)
• Completion of all YMCA required trainings (required)
