Job Summary
We are seeking energetic and compassionate Summer Camp Teachers to join our team! In this role, you will create a safe, engaging, and enriching summer experience for children ages 4- 12 years. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help inspire young minds through educational activities, sports, arts, and recreational programs. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact while developing your skills in childcare, teaching, and camp supervision. Duties
- Lead and supervise children during camp activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all participants
- Go on Fieldtrips
- Lead Group time with prayer and bible verses
- Implement age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate educational games, arts and crafts, sports, theater, and other engaging activities
- Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management techniques and promote positive social interactions among children
- Provide first aid and respond promptly to any minor injuries or emergencies in accordance with safety protocols
- Support children with special needs or behavioral challenges by applying specialized strategies such as childhood development techniques or special education methods
- Foster a nurturing atmosphere that encourages creativity, teamwork, and personal growth
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding their child’s progress and any concerns that arise during camp sessions
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, summer camp, tutoring, babysitting, or after-school programs is highly preferred
- Knowledge of classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques
- Certification in first aid and CPR is desirable; training can be provided if necessary
- Background in early childhood education or childhood development is a plus
- Experience with sports coaching or theater activities will be considered an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with children of diverse backgrounds and needs
