Duties
- Lead and facilitate diverse camp activities including sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor games to ensure all children are actively engaged and having fun
- Manage classroom behavior with positive reinforcement strategies to maintain a safe and respectful environment
- Provide supervision and support for children during free play, structured activities, meal times, and rest periods
- Implement safety protocols including basic first aid when necessary and ensure all activities comply with health guidelines
- Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance by adapting activities and providing individualized attention
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding their child’s progress, behavior, and any concerns that arise during camp hours
- Collaborate with fellow staff members to plan age-appropriate curriculum that promotes childhood development and social skills
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp programs is highly desirable
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies to foster a positive learning environment
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not already certified
- Background in early childhood education, special education, or related fields is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with children of various ages and backgrounds
- Ability to lead activities confidently in sports coaching, theater productions, or other specialized areas of interest
- Commitment to creating an inclusive environment that supports childhood development and promotes safety at all times
