Duties
- Supervise and engage children in a variety of camp activities including sports, arts and outdoor adventures
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers by implementing proper behavior management and emergency procedures
- Facilitate age-appropriate educational activities that promote early childhood education and developmental milestones
- Maintain a positive, inclusive environment that encourages teamwork, creativity, and self-confidence
- Assist with classroom management during structured learning sessions or tutoring activities
- Provide first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any health or safety concerns
- Collaborate with fellow counselors to plan daily schedules, coordinate special events, and support campers’ individual needs such as those requiring special education or behavioral support
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain order and foster a respectful environment
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and child safety protocols
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or similar settings
- Background in teaching, tutoring, or early childhood education is highly desirable
- Ability to handle behavior management challenges with patience and professionalism
- Familiarity with childhood development principles to support age-specific activities
- Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, and team members
- Experience in sports coaching, babysitting adds valuable versatility to your role
