Job Summary

In this dynamic role, you will foster a safe, inclusive, and fun environment, guiding campers through a variety of recreational, educational, and creative experiences. Your energy and leadership will help create unforgettable summer memories while supporting the developmental needs of each child.
Duties
- Supervise and engage groups of children in daily camp activities, ensuring safety and enjoyment at all times
- Implement age-appropriate games, sports, arts and crafts, theater performances, and outdoor adventures that promote teamwork and creativity
- Manage behavior effectively using positive reinforcement techniques and behavior management strategies
- Provide first aid when necessary, responding promptly to minor injuries or health concerns in accordance with safety protocols
- Support children with special education needs or behavioral challenges to ensure an inclusive experience for all campers
- Collaborate with fellow counselors to plan and execute daily schedules aligned with camp goals and themes
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding camper progress or concerns (while maintaining confidentiality)
- Uphold camp policies, safety standards, and childcare regulations to ensure a secure environment for everyone involved
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and childhood development principles
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or behavior management are a plus
- Strong skills in teaching, sports coaching, theater arts, or childcare enhance your ability to connect with campers effectively
- Demonstrated ability to manage diverse groups of children with patience, enthusiasm, and professionalism
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and stand or walk for extended periods during active camp days
- Passion for working with children and fostering their growth through engaging activities
