Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children and teens during camp activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational, educational, arts, sports, and team-building activities tailored to different age groups.
- Maintain constant awareness of campers’ behavior, applying effective behavior management techniques to promote positive conduct.
- Provide first aid when necessary, adhering to safety protocols and reporting incidents accurately.
- Support children with special needs or in early childhood education programs by adapting activities to meet individual requirements.
- Foster a welcoming atmosphere that encourages teamwork, respect, and personal development among campers.
- Collaborate with fellow staff members to ensure smooth daily operations and communicate camper progress or concerns to supervisors.
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to guide groups of children confidently and effectively.
- Experience in childcare, daycare, or babysitting that demonstrates patience and nurturing qualities.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and child safety protocols.
- Background in teaching, tutoring, or working with children with special education needs.
- Ability to manage behavior constructively while promoting positive childhood development.
- Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, and team members.
- Enthusiasm for sports coaching, theater arts, or other extracurricular activities that enhance camp programming.
