Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily camp activities, ensuring all children are actively engaged and having fun
- Foster a safe environment by enforcing camp rules and practicing proper behavior management techniques
- Provide first aid when necessary, following established safety protocols to address minor injuries or health concerns
- Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance through tailored activities and compassionate guidance
- Collaborate with fellow counselors to plan themed events, sports games, arts and crafts, theater performances, and other recreational activities
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding camper progress, behavior, or concerns
- Maintain a positive attitude and serve as a role model by demonstrating kindness, patience, and enthusiasm throughout the day
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain order and promote respectful interactions among children
- Experience in childcare, early childhood education, or daycare settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies and childhood development principles
- Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations using first aid skills
- Experience working with children with special needs or in inclusive environments is a plus
- Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, and team members
- Background in sports coaching, babysitting, tutoring, theater arts or Christian counseling enhances your ability to connect with campers and lead diverse activities
