Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Summer Camp Coaches/Counselors to create a fun, safe, and engaging environment for children during our summer programs. This role involves supervising campers, facilitating activities, and promoting positive behavior while fostering growth and development. Ideal candidates will have a passion for working with children and experience in educational or recreational settings. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in childcare, teaching, and youth development within a vibrant camp atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children participating in camp activities throughout the day
- Lead and facilitate a variety of recreational, educational, and creative activities including GYMNASTICS and other sports, arts and crafts, and outdoor games
- Manage group behavior using effective behavior management techniques and promote positive social interactions
- Assist with daily routines such as meal times, rest periods, and transitions between activities
- Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance, utilizing experience in special education or childhood development when applicable
- Foster an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and encourages teamwork
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and other stakeholders regarding camper progress or concerns
Experience
- Gymnastics knowledge highly recommended
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp programs is preferred
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies is advantageous
- Certifications such as first aid or child CPR are highly desirable
- Experience with special education, early childhood education, or teaching enhances suitability for this role
- Background in sports coaching, or childcare can be beneficial
- Demonstrated ability to engage children through creative activities like arts, sports, is valued
- Previous experience working with students of various ages helps ensure effective supervision and activity planning
Pay: $14.00 – $17.00 per hour
