About the Role
We are seeking two Studio Tech Engineers to support podcast and livestream production during World Cup coverage. This is a hands-on, project-based role supporting live and recorded sessions, working directly with producers, hosts, and talent in a fast-paced studio environment.
This role requires someone who can run sessions independently, troubleshoot in real-time, and operate studio equipment confidently. Flexibility is critical, as recording schedules will vary based on match timing (evenings and weekends required).
Key Responsibilities
• Set up, operate, and break down audio/video recording equipment for podcast and livestream sessions
• Run recording sessions end-to-end: manage audio levels, video feeds, and signal flow
Handle camera setup (PTZ, Sony, Panasonic, Canon) and microphone placement
• Perform line checks and ensure proper signal flow across all equipment
• Act as the main technical point of contact during sessions
• Troubleshoot and resolve live technical issues quickly and independently
• Manage and deliver recorded files to producers after sessions
• Organize and maintain media files and recording assets
• Support remote recording setups (Zoom) when needed
• Collaborate closely with producers, hosts, and talent to ensure high-quality production
• Assist with lighting setup and control systems during recordings
• Guide talent and producers on best technical practices
What We’re Looking For (Manager Must-Haves)
• 5+ years of experience in audio/video production (studio, agency, or freelance)
• Experience with podcast production (MUST HAVE – not just general production)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with quick turnarounds
• Strong attention to detail and self-directed problem-solving mindset
• Passion for podcasts and understanding of podcast production environments
• Willingness to complete paid training on internal systems and studio setup prior to start
• Must be able to work onsite in NYC (World Trade Center location)
• Hands-on experience running full studio recording sessions independently
• Strong audio/visual (AV) experience in a studio or production environment
• Deep understanding of signal flow (how audio/video systems connect and function)
• Ability to troubleshoot live issues on the spot under pressure
• Proficiency with Pro Tools and Adobe Suite
• Experience working with cameras, mics, switchers, and recording boards
• Familiarity with PTZ cameras, lighting consoles, and video workflows
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders (producers, talent, tech teams)
• Comfortable working with VIP talent – professional, polished, and discreet
• Strong communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
• Flexible schedule – must be open to evenings, weekends, and last-minute changes
Additional Notes
• This is a project-based, variable schedule role tied to live sports coverage
• Schedule will vary weekly depending on match timing (not fixed days/hours)
• Opportunity to be re-engaged for future productions (e.g., fall sports season)
