CFMWS – WHERE PURPOSE MEETS PASSION! THE ROLE
The Strength and Conditioning Specialist designs and delivers high‑quality, challenging, specialized physical‑fitness classes to unit personnel. They conduct unit physical fitness evaluations and exercise prescriptions in accordance with Canadian Forces (CF) policies and procedures. The Specialist assists with advanced physical fitness evaluations, laboratory tests, and the development of individualized and collective training programs based on evaluation results.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Sciences, or a related field plus several years of experience in physical fitness administration, evaluation, or a related field.
- Current Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP).
- National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification.
- Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications.
- Unit‑specific physical fitness standards, as required.
Experience
- Conducting physical fitness programs.
- Designing individual and group strength and conditioning programs for elite‑level personnel.
- Physical fitness evaluation of personnel.
- Conducting advanced exercise testing and prescription.
- Designing and delivering specialized fitness training programs to enhance physical performance.
